Late September

Amidst all the turmoil in Honduras, we give thanks to God for many things.  Always.  The ban on international travel has been lifted, with airports opening last week, allowing  Henry & Francis, the missionaries in Honduras,  to fly to the states.  We will be picking them up today, in preparation for our mission dinner/presentation, this Saturday, October 3rd.   So many of you have donated items for this silent and live auction.  We really appreciate this!!  We are excited for the big event!

Support from near and far has continued to pour in!  We’d like to give thanks to the First Presbyterian Women’s group of Durango, who generously gave $2000 towards our ministry.  We presented to the Kiwanis Club of Durango, set up by member Jen Cuntz, which resulted in not only a wonderful check of $500 from the Couts & Clark Western Foundation, but also in many more folks now aware of what we’ll be doing.  We’d also like to thank Sara Musil-Burris  for her large donation of arts & crafts supplies, Libby Culver’s ESL supplies, Liza Trigellis’s parenting material, Sara- at the Adult Education Center with ESL help, and a free haircut at Salon by Teri!  What a huge help!  We’d also like to thank our dear friends Kelly & Jude Behn and Suzanne for their efforts on Sept. 12.  It was also great to be able to sit down with John Peel, from the Herald newspaper, which resulted in a well-done, front page article on us.  Wow!  Strangers are now stopping us saying “You’re those people that are going to Honduras!”

Despite all of the unknowns we are facing, we trust that God has it all figured out!  Much love to you!
