Spring in Roatan

We were blessed by a wonderful visit from Katie McLean & Heather Quandt!  Two young women came with lots of energy and enthusiasm to help bring down materials/supplies, lead english games & crafts, facilitate soccer drills, and meet a student they sponsor for schooling.  We brainstormed aplenty regarding the future:  a possible mission trip for older youth, an exchange/camp program, and opportunities to serve here.  Check out our facebook page (Care4Communities), FRIEND US! for more photos of their trip.

Teacher Training Workshops and Speech Screenings/Therapy continue within a number of different schools and children within the area.  It is hopeful this will increase and will continue into the future.  There are few english instructors certified in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language and even fewer materials available.  We are told there are no other Speech/Language Pathologists on island….

The sports court is cruising along nicely.  Ron & Jamie Rich-McDonald htpp://thejourneyof2.blogspot.com/ are settling into life on Roatan.  Ron has been a huge help with hard, hot days on the court and Jamie has craft class/ devotion groups going.  Wait to you see what the girls will be selling-  really cool bags and picture frames out of chip bags!

Next update:  More info. to come on our progress in becoming a tax-deductible charitable nonprofit and plans for transitioning back to the states……    MANY BLESSINGS TO EACH ONE OF YOU!!!!
