Now that Thanksgiving is soon upon us, we know that Christmas is just around the corner. It’s a precious time of thanks and giving. While we often feel that we don’t have much to give, there’s always something we can give to another person. We are blessed to be a blessing!
*We can give an encouraging word, hug or smile. (Who doesn’t like to hear an encouraging word?)
*We can just simply listen without judging or having any expectations or giving any advice. (After all, we’ve been given 2 ears and only 1 mouth!)
*We can give of our time. (Have you ever really listened to the lyrics in that song, Cat’s in the Cradle, where the son turns out just like his own dad who never gave him time? Just about brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.)
*We can TRY to go about our days looking for ways to help/serve others. (Life is really not about what we have or what we’ve accomplished; it’s about who we have helped.)
*We can invest in organizations which are spreading hope and love. (When there is no hope, there is no life.)
Having had a presence in this community in Honduras for 4+ years and a nonprofit 501 (c3) status for 1.5+ years, we are still in our early stages of bringing about change. YET, it is happening! REAL CHANGE, where HOPE is becoming firmly rooted in many hearts. They are GIVING of themselves, their time and their talents. Thank you for your support over the years. Because you give, they too can experience giving. This is the cycle we need to continue, in order to expand: to flourish. While we may not have a fancy brochure to capture your heart during this Christmas season, nor an update delivered to your doorstep or inbox on a weekly basis, every dime given goes to help the children and youth there help themselves. On a really tight budget, we can humbly say how proud we are of the transformations which have taken place. Care4Communities mission statement is: Encouraging individuals to discover and develop their gifts, talents, and passions to their greatest potential so that they might be deployed into the world creating positive, Godly change . We challenge you: If you want to be a part of creating positive, Godly change in Honduras, and feel it is best to help individuals help themselves, take time today to consider prayerfully, what you might be willing to put towards this effort. It’s a group effort and we need you! Many thanks to each one of you!
