Nominating committee
  • The nominating committee is appointed by the Board of Directors at least seventy-five (75) days prior to the date of the Annual Member Meeting and is tasked to solicit and nominate qualified candidates to serve as directors.
  • Nominations may be made by petition signed by at least 10 members whose assessments are current provided such nominating petition is received by the Nominating Committee at least fifty (50) days before the Annual Member Meeting.
  • Within forty-five (45) days prior to the date of the Annual Member Meeting, the Nominating committee shall notify the Secretary of the names of the candidates nominated for election to the Board of Directors.   Nominations from the floor at the Annual Member Meeting will not be accepted.

Note:  An election is not required unless more candidates are nominated than vacancies exist.

Qualification
Any member may be nominated and serve as a director provided he or she …

  • is not delinquent in the payment of any fee, fine, or other monetary obligation to the association.
  • has not been convicted of any felony in Florida or in a United States District or Territorial Court or has not been convicted of any offense in another jurisdiction which would be considered a felony if committed in Florida, unless such felon’s civil rights have been restored for at least 5 years as of the date on which he or she seeks election to the board.
