Care4Communities Response to COVID-19

The island of Roatan relies on tourism for its economy. With the closing of its borders all flights have been cancelled and the cruise industry has come to a screeching halt. Without the ability to earn an income, the families are struggling to buy food and pay for everyday essentials. Care4Communities is responding rapidly to help support those who live in the community we serve, La Colonia, both our court and school kids.

We have a unique opportunity and responsibility to not only help provide basic necessities to those who are struggling, but to share the love of Christ throughout this pandemic. Below you will see different actions we are taking to support the people in La Colonia. We ask that you pray for the people of La Colonia (and all of Roatan) and that you would prayerfully considering donating to these causes.

Food Distribution

Care4Communities on-site leaders are preparing bags of rice, beans and flour to distribute to families of our sports court, school and local church.

Food is purchased in large quantities and then split into individual servings for families to pick up at the Care4Communities property.

With your donations, we will be able to continue to purchase basic groceries to distribute and to continue providing ready-made hot meals from one of our contacts on the island.

The cost per meal averages out to about $0.50.
