Merry Christmas

Hello friends and C4C family!  As the year winds down and we are in the Christmas season, all of us here at C4C are filled with humble appreciation at God’s ever-faithful guiding hand this past year and we look with great anticipation at what is to come in 2019.   As you know from our previous blog, this year has been one of transition and we feel as if we have finally settled into our new rhythms.

Ms. Lyz finished off the school year with a beautiful Christmas program (school runs from January to the end of November.)  The parents of our students were invited to come to Casa de Luz to hear their children sing songs and see them awarded with certificates for their progress in English this year.  They also enjoyed a yummy meal with the help of volunteers from our community church across the street.    That is always a special treat.

As for Hector on La Canchita, he too is finishing the year on a high note.  After 4 months of running the 16+ age group tournament, we finally have our champions.  The final game was between Golden Star and Dortmund.  Dortmund was down 0 to 2 at the half…..but in the 2nd half they came back with 3 goals!  Final score was 3:2 Dortmund.   We of course wished them hearty congratulations on our Facebook page.

The school programs, and the certificates, and the tournaments and celebrations are all wonderful joy-filled things, but what has truly brought us joy this past year are the prayers realized for some of our boys.  We have had several boys give their hearts to the Lord and they are living out that commitment.  We get the honor and privilege of seeing lives changed by God’s own hand.   From our founding missionaries, the Tichis, to the McDonalds who worked with us for 5 years, and now to local leaders Lyz and Hector – seeds planted and watered over time are now sprouting, and that my friends, is true joy!

From our hearts to all of yours, the C4C Board wishes you a very Merry Christmas and are so very thankful for your generous love and support.
God bless!
Gloria and the C4C Board
